Amusing Children

As you might guess, getting children away from the pool and into the car to go somewhere can be a bit of a challenge. Here are a few ideas for ways to tempt them:

P'arc-en-Ciel is a country 'activity' park, geared towards childrens activities, at the nearby village of Lacapelle-Biron (the village itself is also worth a wander), and contains all the the animals, woodland activities, play areas etc. that your children could hope for. The main attraction is the 'treetop' experience (different levels of difficulty available for all ages) for the older and braver children and adults, if walking along ropes ten metres in the air appeals to you.

Swimming / paddling in the river is very popular with children and adults alike

Canoeing along the Dordogne is great fun for everyone, life jackets are provided for all, and it is completely safe for children although not recommended perhaps for babies / toddlers

Pony / horse riding is available nearby

The popula Aqua Park at Bergerac is a pool and water slides type complex

Park Walibi at Agen (1 hour) is a full scale amusement and theme park

Cycling with children is easy, since there are plenty of quiet roads and not too many difficult hills

There is a large recreation of medieval weaponry and military equipment at Chateau Castelnaud, popular with 'lads of a certain age'!
